Chocolate birthday cake - a recipe for a one bowl chocolate fudge cake and a flourless chocolate, hazelnut and coffee liqueur cake.
Hey folks,
Ive got a special bonus issue of The Good Home Cook for you. This week I had my birthday and i’ve gotta say I look forward to baking myself a fat chocolate cake every year and enjoying it with lots of cold cream. So as a special treat, for paid subs i’ve got my two favourite go-to chocolate laden bakes. A very easy, fool-proof moist chocolate sponge, sandwiched with ganache and beckoning for sprinkles. Cake number two is a more grown-up flourless, hazelnut, chocolate number.
There’s also a few key tip’s and tricks to getting that lusciously rich Bruce Bogtrotter style sponge - but don’t worry there easy-peasy.
The layered chocolate number sings of nostalgia and is fantastic for transporting to a party whilst the flourless guy doubles up as a dessert when eaten warm and has a boozy edge. Next time your mate has a birthday, bake ‘em one of these and be a very popular pal.
Happy baking - you can do it Brucey!
